About Orisun Labs
Orisun Labs is an independent software studio rooted in the belief that great products begin long before a line of code is written — in understanding, in craft, and in purpose.
The Name
“Orisun” means source, or origin, in Yoruba. Everything flows from somewhere. We start there.
Orisun Labs was founded on a simple conviction: most software fails not because of bad code, but because it was built without a clear understanding of where it was going or why.
The name is intentional. Orisun — drawn from the Yoruba language of West Africa — means “source” or “origin.” It grounds the studio in something real. Cultural identity, not just branding.
The approach follows the same principle. Before writing a single line of code, we ask the harder questions: What problem actually needs solving? Who is it for? What does success look like? Then we build.
Philosophy
Real solutions come from real understanding. We spend time in the problem before reaching for a solution. The source isn’t the code — it’s the insight that makes the code worth writing.
Every architectural decision, every UI choice, every API call reflects a deliberate trade-off. We don’t cut corners. We don’t ship features that don’t serve the user. Intentional craft over fast and loose.
A perfect app that never ships is worthless. We build for real users, launch in real environments, and iterate from real feedback. The source never stops flowing — neither does the work.
The Founder
Founder & Developer, Orisun Labs
Kenny Adenusi is a software developer and Computer Science student at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where he is completing a Bachelor of Science and an accelerated 4+1 Master of Science in Computer Science simultaneously.
He founded Orisun Labs as a home for his independent software work — a place to build products that reflect the same level of craft he brings to everything he touches. His flagship project, Èdè, is a live iOS app on the App Store that makes learning Yoruba genuinely approachable for a new generation of speakers.
His technical interests span mobile-first product development, AI integration, real-time systems, and full-stack SaaS architecture. He builds with TypeScript, React Native, Swift, Next.js, and the surrounding ecosystem daily.
